Welcome to the Biomedical Acceleration and Commercialization Center (BACC) at Albany Medical College. Our institution was founded 175 years ago and we have always been focused on new innovations in biomedical research and education. The BACC is our latest initiative that draws upon the knowledge and experience of a community of people who strive to bring bio-medical innovations to market. Its existence demonstrates we are committed to discovering, developing and accelerating breakthrough biotechnologies that will dramatically improve patient experiences and outcomes while aiding in the economic growth of our region and beyond.
We’re excited to announce that this year, we were one of the first private colleges to be awarded the designation of STARTUP-NY and are now offering our members the benefits associated with this important economic growth program spearheaded by Governor Cuomo.
Our goal is to create a regionally inclusive ecosystem where entrepreneurs, inventors, physicians, researchers, academicians, business professionals, investors, students and administrators will successfully navigate healthcare innovation.
The BACC is part of the only academic medical center within a 125 mile radius of Albany, New York. Our vision is to be the hub and accelerator of biomedical discovery in Tech Valley. The BACC will stimulate and diversify the local economy by creating high-tech jobs and our network of business leaders and top-notch researchers will facilitate corporate, academic and government collaborations in a highly complex and competitive, healthcare-based market.
